Spanish Language School in Cuernavaca,
Mexico
 Acalli is a small school run by a family who will make you feel
part of them. Acalli offers you the opportunity to live, feel, speak and
listen Spanish on a full time basis.
Classes run for five hours each day and additional
conversation classes for extra language practice i also offered. Acalli's goal is to
give you experience with the Spanish language in a natural context.
LOCATION AND FACILITIES
ACALLI
is located in a quiet street close to downtown Cuernavaca. Nearby Laundromats,
supermarkets, parks and sports centers.
The school has a nearby garden for quiet
study and library with more than a thousand books.
Cuernavaca is very close to other important
sites like Taxco, Acapulco, and Puebla. This is an excellent place to study and enjoy
exciting and stimulating vacations. It is the Morelos state's capital, with
approximately 500,000 inhabitants. Cuernavaca is at 1,500 mts (5,000 ft) above sea
level and has a climate ranging from moderate to semitropical. It has a year round
temperature of approximately 25ºC (77ºF) with low humidity and a raining season from the
end of May until September. A modern freeway connects Mexico City to Cuernavaca, a
distance of 90 kms (52 mi.) to the south

PROGRAM
 ACALLI
offers individual and small group classes (5 students max) which focus on
oral communication. Five hours of lessons each day include vocabulary, grammar, and
practice outside of the classroom. Optional activitites include salsa & merengue dance
classes, bilingual exchange with local students, social hour and other unique offerings
such as piñata-making and a class entitled "How to Make Drinks with Tequila."
Optional activities and field trips arranged by the school may require an additional fee.
Classes begin each Monday year-round. It is recommended that
students arrive two days before starting date as ACALLI will give you an orientation
as well as an oral and written test to evaluate your level of Spanish.

ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
 ACALLI
offers the opportunity to live with a local Mexican host family. Students enjoy
living with these hospital families who are carefully chosen and supervised. All of the
families live close to school and conveniently close to public transportation.
Lodging Options:
Plan A superior: Single room or
share by request, semiprivate bathroom, in spacious homes with garden. Three meals per day
are included; cost is per person per night.
Plan B economy : A room shared with another assigned student or you
own family member in a smaller home without a garden. You will share the bathroom with
your roommate of the same gender. Three meals per day are included; cost is per person per
night.
