The Byron Bay English Language School opened in 1998 with the aim of providing high quality English language tuition in a beautiful and natural environment and to compliment this educational experience with a range of activity options.

The school is located in the central part of Byron Bay, 2 minutes walk from the bus stop. It occupies a two storey building in Jonson Lane. Access is also available from Carlyle St. Cafe Oska and some accommodation are also part of the school premises. Outside the 5 ground floor classrooms there is a sheltered outdoor garden area for students to relax, eat lunch and enjoy conversations with other students. The first floor includes classrooms, an indoor common area, a semi commercial kitchen, some dormitory accommodation and two balcony areas.

The Byron Bay English Language School offers intensive General English language courses for international students and travellers. The qualified teachers will help you to improve your language skills including: Listening, speaking, writing and reading. Classes focus on effective communication in English. You will be encouraged to use your English skills through role plays, grammar exercises, songs and games. General English classes run in 4 week blocks with specific start dates. Students can start on any Monday. However it is best that they start on the first Monday of each 4 week block.

In addition to general language instruction, the Byron Bay English Language School also offers special courses such as Cambridge tests prepartion courses, IELTS preparation, English Plus programs (English & Surfing, English & Diving, etc.) and English Plus Work programs. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of achievement, issued by the school. This will state the level of language competency achieved, the length of the course you completed and your attendance percentage at the school.

The Byron Bay English Language School is fully accredited with the following organisations: NEAS Australia - quality assurance for English language schools in Australia, the Australian Council For Private Education and Training (ACPET - industry tuition assurance provider) and the International Association of Language centres (IALC - prestigious international organisation).
