 Churchill House
is located in the picturesque and safe seaside town of Ramsgate in the beautiful county of
Kent, less than 2 hours from London. Founded in 1971, it has over 37 years experience of
teaching English to students from all over the world. The school is accredited by
the British Council, a member of Quality English and Education UK. It is open all year
round offering a very wide range of courses to students from age 16 and age 10 in the
summer.
Courses include: General English from 2-50 weeks with 15, 20 or 25 hours tuition per week;
Academic Year Courses of 6, 9 or 12 months. Its comprehensive Electives
Programme includes a full range of international examination courses: Cambridge; IELTS;
TOEFL; TOEIC; LCCI; in addition to English for Business, Tourism and Skills development.
The school can also provide Work Experience; Teacher Training Courses; Summer
Vacation Courses for all ages; One to One, Combination courses and English Home Tuition
courses throughout the UK.
The majority of students choose to stay in one of Churchill House's friendly Homestays
within walking distance of the school, but for those who prefer to be more independent it
can offer help in finding private or hotel accommodation.
The Self Access Centre contains a huge and varied range of graded resource material in
different formats; the Student Counsellor is available to help with information, advice
and applications for further education in the UK. The Internet cafe offers free e-mail and
internet access. The school also has its own well-stocked bookshop and library.
Churchill House’s Social Club has a full time staff of 3 people who organise a wide
variety of evening and weekend activities, sports and excursions, one-day trips to London
and other places of interest, and a five or six day trip to Scotland four times a year as
well as regular weekend trips to Paris, Amsterdam and Ireland.
