The New England School of English (NESE) is located in Harvard Square in Cambridge, adjacent to Harvard University and just a few minutes' walk from the Charles River. The philosophy of NESE is to provide an intellectually challenging program of high quality in a warm and supportive environment.

NESE's average class size is 10 students. Students have a choice of participating in NESE's Intensive Program or in NESE's Semi-Intensive Program. Both programs offer 10 levels of language and culture training, full access to all NESE facilities, and a choice of either dormitory or homestay accommodation. 

The school offers different elective courses:  TOEFL preparation, Business English, University preparation, Pronunciation, and Legal English. Students have a choice of attending the regular intensive program or only attending classes that best suit their specific goals. Elective courses and private instruction are options that exist for professionals at NESE.  Local universities and colleges also welcome advanced-level NESE students to their courses. These courses provide an ideal opportunity to experience American university life, improve your English, and make American friends.

NESE offers professionals many activities and trips to areas of interest: opportunities to meet classmates who share their interests, attend meetings, and visit companies in Boston, etc.

NESE offers unlimited free access to e-mail and the Internet. Students are also welcome to bring their own laptops to make free use of NESE’s wireless Internet connection in any of NESE’s classrooms and lounges. 

NESE has three dormitories, one for younger students (Green Hall), one for mid-age students (Poppet Hall), and one for professionals (Lee Hall). All dormitories are located only 15 minutes from NESE near the campuses of Harvard and MIT.

NESE's American homestay program is designed to provide cultural exposure to American family life in a warm and supportive environment.  NESE carefully selects all homestay families, and every family has a great deal of experience hosting foreign students.
