Since 1990, Eurocentres Canada has maintained
excellence in providing high quality of comprehensive instruction in English as a Second
Language (ESL) to international students. In well-balanced classes with nationalities from
all over the world, you will learn English and become comfortable interacting and
communicating with individuals from various countries. With locations in Canada's two most
important cities, Eurocentres Vancouver and Eurocentres Toronto are excellent places for
your English immersion experience. The two
schools are modern and stylish with lots of natural light. The Learning Centre, the
lounge, the large classrooms, and the high-speed Internet Computer Centre are all spaces
where you can study, relax or visit with friends at your own pace. Both schools offers
high-speed wireless internet, which is available to all students for free. As soon as you
step outside the schools, you are in the heart of two of Canada's most interesting cities-
Toronto and Vancouver, yours to discover. Eurocentres Vancouver is conveniently
located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, a city with modern conveniences and
spectacular scenery. The school is only a few minutes from all major transit services,
Pacific Centre (Vancouvers largest shopping mall), and an abundance of shops and
restaurants. On the other hand, Eurocentres Toronto is conveniently located in Canada's
biggest city and commercial centre. In 2007, Eurocentres Toronto moved to a brand new
location offering the students a larger and more modern facility. Eurocentres is in the
heart of the trendy Queen Street West district, home to great shopping, movie theatres,
cafés, nightclubs, CN Tower, at 557m the world's tallest free-standing structure and
Rogers Centre hosting major league sporting events and pop concerts.
The teaching of real language for real purposes in an
action-oriented approach is at the heart of Eurocentres methodology. At Eurocentres, you
will learn the language you need to communicate in real life. You do exercises to improve
your fluency and your accuracy. Then teachers provide activities which require real
communication. Eurocentres Canada offers a wide range of English as a Second
Language (ESL) courses at both centres, as well as other specialized courses, such as exam
preparation for TOEIC, TOEFL and Cambridge, Business English, Seasonal and holidays
programs, familiy programs, and much more. General instruction is offered in basic
courses, intensive courses and super-intensive courses. Basic courses have no more than 14
students per class, are taught by a team of 2 teachers and comprise 20 lessons plus 5
hours self-study in the Learning Centre per week. Intensive (25 lessons + 5) and
super-intensive courses (30 lessons + 5) add elective options such as preparation for
TOEFL or Cambridge exams, Business English, Fluency and other topics. There are also
private lessons available. General English Courses are available for students 16 and
older.
Regarding accommodation, Eurocentres Canada spend a lot of
time and effort selecting, inspecting and monitoring host families and residences. All of
the Eurocentres Canada host families have been carefully selected and counseled in
welcoming international students into their families. Students who would prefer not to
stay in homestay can register for residence accommodation. These accommodations include a
single private room with shared washroom facilities. No meals are included with the
residence accommodations.
Eurocentres Canada offers a wide variety of sporting,
cultural and social activities. Both the Vancouver and Toronto schools offer school
activities every Wednesday and Friday. Class schedules have been created so that all
classes finish early on these days to allow all students to participate. Each of these
school-sponsored events is attended by teaching staff to further your opportunities to
speak and improve your English. Each week there is at least one Conversation Club
opportunity. The Conversation Club is offered to all levels of students free of charge.
Some of the activities include: beach volleyball, soccer, softball, skiing/snowboarding,
movies, Capilano Suspension Bridge, karaoke, Salsa Dance lesson, rollerblading/cycling in
Stanley Park, etc. |
