The Academy of English in Cape Town is a privately owned language school, specializing in English language instruction and teacher training.  AOECT has its premises in Stadium on Main, an office and entertainment complex situated in Claremont, an upmarket suburb of Cape Town Claremont is safe and central, within easy walking distance of a variety of shopping and entertainment outlets, and affords easy access to public transport.

AOECT offers a wide variety of tailor-made courses and language programs as well as an exciting social activities program, all of which are specifically designed to accommodate individual needs and preferences.  It offers small group classes as well as private tuition; bi-monthly progress tests and performance reviews, free Internet access and more.

The school caters to all language levels from Beginner to Advanced. Students are administered a placement test on arrival, and are then placed in level-appropriate classes. On completion of their studies, all students receive a certificate and performance review.  Some of the courses offered are: General English, examination preparation and English for Academic Purposes, Business English, short-term courses and Study Plus Work and Travel Program.

AOECT offers a variety of accommodation options close to the school or on the public transport line, including homestay, communal house/shared accommodation, youth hostels and other options.
