Is Cadiz a tourist town?
Cadiz is not affected by mass tourism. This means that all those who wish to visit Cadiz will not only be able to enjoy peacefully its streets, squares, monuments and beaches but will also have the opportunity to fully fit into the life of the city. If, on top of that, you also want to learn Spanish and make some Spanish friends, Cadiz is an ideal city.

What are the office hours at the school?
The office will remain open from 09:90 - 18:30 Monday till Friday.

What are classrooms like? 
Classrooms are large and very bright, with balconies. Students sit around a table.   The school also has a classroom with individual tablet arm chairs, which is used to watch films and used for listening lessons.

How many students are in each class?
The average number of pupils to form a group in K2 Internacional is 5. The maximum number of pupils in a class is 8 while the minimum is 3. During the summer the maximum number can be increased up to 10.

What happens if there is not the minimum number of students to attend the course?
In cases where this minimum number of pupils is not attained, those concerned will be personally notified and other alternatives offered (e.g. to take one to one lessons without a price difference)

What is the minimum age accepted?
Minimum age to enrol on a course at K2 INTERNACIONAL is 18 years old, while management reserves the right to accept students aged 17 in exceptional cases.

How many different levels of study are there?
- Beginners (A1)
- Elementary (A2)
- Intermediate (B1)
- Upper Intermediate (B2)
- Advanced (C1)

How do I know which level I should enrol for?
Before starting a course all the students must take a level test at the school in order to know exactly which level they have and which study group would suit them best. You also have the possibility to take the test online before you arrive in Cadiz.

Can I change the course if I think it doesn’t suit me?
If you think that your course doesn’t suit your level, you can speak to the Director of Study or to your teacher, and they will help you to find the right one. Besides, as groups are small, teachers also have the possibility to easily evaluate the level of the students at any time.

Does K2 Internacional issue a certificate of the course?
Yes, after finishing your course you will receive a certificate of attendance (including the duration and kind of course) and level achieved.

Lessons are taught in the mornings or in the afternoons?
Most of the lessons are between 09:30 and 14:00, depending on the selected course. One to one lessons can be in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on availability. Extra activities or specific course are in the afternoon.

Is it possible to stay for just one week?
Yes it’s possible. One week courses have an extra charge, please see the price list. If you are a beginner and you can stay just one week or you don’t want to be studying at the school everyday, it's recommended that you take one to one lessons.

If I decide to stay longer after my course, is it possible?
If you would like to continue studying at the school, it just depends on the availability. It is the best to let the person in charge know as soon as possible.

What level of expertise do the teachers have in the school?
All teachers are native speakers and university graduates, and are specialized in using modern teaching methods. The motivation of the staff continues even after the lessons are over. They are skilled, dynamic, friendly and affable and are employed for their highly communicative approach.

Do teachers speak Spanish with an Andalusian accent?
All the lessons will be taught with a “Standard Spanish” accent, besides not all  teachers at K2 Internacional are from Andalusia. Nevertheless, practicing with Spaniards with an Andalusian accent will help you to understand easily not just Spanish people but also people from South-America where the accent is very similar.


ABOUT ACCOMMODATION


What are the different types of accommodation?
K2 Internacional can arrange the kind of accommodation that you want, such as a hotel, hostel, student residence, your own apartment… But the most popular alternatives are:

- Shared flat with other students
- Accommodation in a host family (half or full board)

Do the apartments have a kitchen and washing machine?
Apartments have fully equipped kitchens (with washing machine), bathroom, and living room (with T.V). You just need to bring your own bed linen and towels. All the flats are selected and reviewed personally by the staff at the school who make sure that everything thing is sufficient for student needs.

Are apartments close to the school?
Flats are inside the city and within a walking distance from the school and the beach.

How many students are in one apartment?
Apartments are usually shared by 3-4 people.

What is included in the price? Do I have to pay anything extra, like gas?
No, you don’t have to pay anything extra. Water, electricity and gas expenses are included in the accommodation price.

Does full board with a family in an individual bedroom usually include laundry service?
The accommodation with a Spanish family doesn't include laundry service although you have full use of the washing machine. Sometimes the families will do the washing for you…..but not always. It is down to the discretion of the family.

When do I know the address of my accommodation? Where do I have to go when I arrive in the city?
You will know the address of your accommodation the week before starting the course. Besides before you arrive, the person in charge of the accommodation will arrange an appointment with you. You will be met on a Sunday at the accommodation to make sure that everything is O.K. and to give you information about the facilities close to the flat. A mobile phone number will be provided, so that you can always get in touch with someone if you need anything during your trip.

If I arrive the day before to Cadiz, can I start to live at my flat or with my host family? Can I decide to stay longer?
Either to arrive before or to stay longer is possible depending on availability. In these cases accommodation prices will be charged accordingly. If you need to arrive before or stay longer, please say as soon as possible to the person in charge in order to check availability and to give you a free quote. The school can also help you to make hotel reservations.

I’m vegetarian. Is this a problem if I stay with a Spanish family?
Most of the families don’t have any problems to prepare a special meal. However, please include this in your enrolment form in order for K2 Internacional to find the right family for you.

The price of the course includes:

o Student's welcome and school handbook
o Registration fee.
o Welcome party.
o Accommodation management according to availability.
o Initial test of linguistic competence.

o Certificate of attendance and level of competence achieved.
o Guided visit through the historic quarters of the city.
o Map of the city.
o Free Internet access.
o Free fax, telephone and e-mail reception services.

The final price does not include trips and additional cultural or leisure activities, staying extra nights, transportation to and from the airport, railway station, seaport, etc, neither registration fees in the D.E.L.E. exams.
There are not any hidden extras to pay later.

The school will provide students with a weekly programme of the activities organized by the school or any other cultural or leisure organization.
Students can enrol directly at the school for extra activities.

Which activities can I enrol for?
The school offers many different extra curricular activities. The kind of activities depends on the time of the year and the number of students. Some of the activities that are usually offerer are:

Flamenco course
Spanish guitar course
Excursions Inside the province and around Andalusia/Seville, Cordoba and Granada.
Barbecues at the beach where students and teachers always have a relaxed and enjoyable time, speaking and singing Spanish and international songs or playing a football match, and of course having Spanish food and sangria.
“Tapas” tour:
Going to eat tapas is also a good way to know the Spanish culture and the city of Cadiz.

Free activities:
Spanish films

Guided visit to the historic quarter of the city, museums and exhibitions.
Events held in the city, especially during Carnival, Holy week and summer: concerts, exhibitions, fairs…
International meals: The school organizes meals with all the students of the school. Everyone prepares a typical dish of their county. This activity is always popular as students also learn about other cultures whilst meeting other students.
