The Tlatoani Language School offers Spanish language courses in Buenavista de Cuéllar, a small mountain town in the State of Guerrero.  It is a three hour ride from either Mexico City or Acapulco and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

The Tlatoani Language School is part of a network of cooperating learning centers which use the same basic program of study (called Platiquemos) and operate throughout United States and Mexico.  This program is designed after the Basic Course of Spanish of the US Department of State's Foreign Service Institute (FSI) and allows the Spanish language student to study in different schools throughout Mexico, to be exposed to the culture, to have a consistent and progressive course of study and to take the International Diploma in Spanish (DIE) exam.   Tlatoani Language School is an approved DIE testing center.

Each student will be given a placement evaluation prior to the start of classes, in order to be placed in the appropiate class. Class are usually small (imited to 4 students) to provide maximum individual attention to each student, and are held from Monday through Friday.  Students may enroll for one week, but is very recommendable to register at least for two weeks. There are two main programs offered by the school: The Regular Intensive Program (20 hours per week) and Individual or Specialized Study (min. 15 hours), which allows the student to focus in some specific topic he/she needs to explore.   Other courses are designed to cover some aspects of the Mexican history, culture and lifestyle, such as History of Buenavista de Cuéllar, Pre-Colombinan Studies, Mexican Customes and Traditions, Indigenous Cultures of Mexico, etc.  Besides language instruction for adults, Tlatoani Language School also offers a Special Program for High School Students.

Internet access is available to students. For those students who do not have web-based email, they can receive messages at a school special e-mail address. Accommodation offered by the school is homestay with local Mexican families.
