La Catalina Natural Language School is located in the charming Mexican village of La Manzanilla, in the state of Jalisco.  The school campus has a three story facility that offers striking views of the ocean, within a few minutes walking distance to the town and the beach.

La Catalina offers a Spanish immersion program in daily intensive language lessons. The teaching/learning approach used at La Catalina is similar to the natural way people learned their first language. Teachers focus their lessons on developing communication skills.  Classes start every Monday, year round, in small groups of 2 to 8 students.   Groups are organized according to level, which is determined by a placement test every student has to take upon arrival.  Courses last from one to four weeks, and every week there is a minimum of two cultural events, to enhance the students' learning process.  These events may include short Mexican films, cooking demos, interviews with townspeople, arts & crafts demos, lectures on Mexican history and art, etc. Other ways students are integrated to the Mexican community, increasing their immersion experience, are to participate in language exchange with Mexican students or to get involved in volunteer activities.

La Catalina offers accommodation with Mexican host families. It also organizes an excursion program on Saturdays, upon request.  This program may include snorkeling trips, sea kayaking, ecology tours, visits to nearby cities, etc.

Other special programs offered by the school include private lessons, customized programs, kids camps (children ages 5 to 12), teen programs (for 11 to 13 year-olds and 14 to 17 year-olds) on Summer, small groups of people coming together, etc.
