Spanish Language School in Oaxaca, Mexico

Becari is a medium size school offering Spanish courses in Oaxaca.  The school is located in a two-hundred-year old building, with a central patio surrounded by the classrooms.  The building is sited just a few blocks from the main square of Oaxaca.

The school offers five types of Spanish courses: Regular (3 hours per day), Intensive (4 hours per day), Super-intensive (6 hours per day, with two hours in the afternoon), Super intensive workshops (4 hours of regular language instruction plus two hours of special workshops -weaving, ceramics, cooking-), and Special courses.  Language instruction is divided in two sessions with a different teacher for each session, and is held five days a week.

Special courses include seminars for professionals, arranged upon request, internships in Mexican companies, and courses for volunteers, health professionals and social workers. There are also other special programs including Business Spanish, Literature, Spanish for children, etc.

The school offers a wide range of services, including airport pick-up, a student's identification card with discounts in numerous places around Oaxaca, different extracurricular activities (language exchange with a Mexican student, Mexican movies every Friday, cultural afternoons with local experts, etc.) and a Spanish diploma upon completion of the course.  Regarding lodging, students may choose to stay with a local family, in a middle class hotel room or in a two-room apartment with kitchen.
