Linguistic Center Yucatan offers Spanish instruction to foreigners to promote the Spanish language as a vehicle of cultural communication.   The center is located in a old quinta, a colonial house with an orchad garden, a block away from the main church of Valladolid, the second-largest city of Yucatan.  Valladolid is conveniently located in the center of Yucatan, with easy access to Cancun, the Maya Riviera, and Yucatan's most important archaeological sites.

Spanish instruction is focused on all language skills (speaking, oral comprehension, reading, writing), applying an intercultural approach through them.  Classes are conducted by native Spanish speaking teachers, who develop lively lessons, using songs, videos, and other aids to create an active learning process.   Groups are small, with no more than 6 participants per class.  Language instruction is complemented with conversation sessions, field study trips, lectures on History, Culture and Archaeology, and outings to the market, the post office and other sites in the city. Intermediate and advanced students may choose to enroll optional workshops on Mexican Literature, Traditional Medicine in Yucatan, Religion and Myths among the Mayas, etc.

Linguistic Center Yucatan also provides numerous services to its students: an open air cafeteria, travel and tourist information, a library, a TV room where get relaxed, a reading room, general information, etc.  Besides, the center organizes various excursions, social activities and has a weekly cultural program.   Accommodation is available with a local host family or in a hotel room.
