Founded in 1987, ILISA is a medium-size language school located in San Pedro, a peaceful suburb of San José, Costa Rica. This location offers students easy access to San José's museums, shops, bars, etc. and provides a variety of activities for them thanks to the influence of the University of Costa Rica, which lies only 5 blocks away.

ILISA's mission is to give Spanish language students the language skills they need to develop professionally or to allow them to better enjoy their travels. To reach these goals, it offers a variety of well-developed yet flexible programs: Spanish for fun, Spanish for your career, Spanish for executives, Language solutions for companies & institutions, Speech Language Pathology and Rehabilitation, Earning University Credit, Cultural Activities Program and Courses for Children.

ILISA also offers different housing options:

• The homestay program, which provides the student with the opportunity to be completely immersed in a Spanish-speaking environment and to share in Costa Rican cultural traditions with the local family.
• La Casa de Carmen, hostal a hostal-like facility in front of ILISA.
