Spanish Language School in Costa Rica
The IPEE or Instituto Profesional de Español para
Extranjeros offers a total immersion
methodology along with professional classes to learn Spanish. Its programs are designed to provide its students with the language skills
that they need, but also integrate them culturally and technically as quickly as possible
so that they may use their new skills immediately. The groups have a maximum of six
students, the method of teaching emphasizes communication, while other schools are biased
towards grammar. The didactic material has been carefully prepared to connect the areas of
listening comprehension and oral communication.
IPEE has courses from as short as one week to six months or
more. It also has special sessions for winter and Spring break for students that have a
limited amount of time and require college credit. The institute teaches any age group,
and any level. It operates all year round, not limited to just a summer session.
There are many different types of courses available: a Standard Spanish Course (4 hours
per day), an Intensive Language Course (6 hours per day), a Spanish Medical Terminology
Course (2 hours in the afternoons plus the Standard Language Course), Spanish Teachers
Course, Latin American Literature Course, etc.
IPEE has a very well developed week day excursion program and
a weekend tour program to some of the most interesting and beautiful locations in Costa
Rica. Besides, the institute will help its students organize their own custom tour,
and help them obtain all the details. Other services include a free e-mail access to the
students and the homestay program. This program is a
vital part of our Total-Immersion method of teaching. The cultural interaction,
communication, and the students well being while attending the institute are the prime
focus of this program. However, if the student prefers other kind of accommodation, the school can provide him/her with telephone numbers of hotels. It can also
provide him/her with information about tours and vacation packages to various places of
interest in Costa Rica.
