Spanish Language School in Costa Rica

Maximum Level was founded in Cusco, Peru in 2003. It opened its San Jose offices in Costa Rica in late 2006 and its Asheville, North Carolina office shortly thereafter. Máximum Level now offers its TEFL/TESOL Certification, Native Spanish Program, International Volunteer Program, and Native English Program in Peru, Costa Rica, and North Carolina (USA).  

Maximum Level’s offices in San Jose, Costa Rica are located in the district of San Pedro, just 5-10 minutes by taxi from the center of San Jose, and just a 5-minute walk from two of San Jose’s major universities. Its offices have been designed with the needs of clients and staff in mind. Every location provides modern computers running Windows and MS-Office; high-speed Internet connections including office-wide WiFi access is also available 7 days a week.  Large screen LCD TVs with digital satelite service are located in the common areas.  It also has a great snack bar where every morning the coffee and tea are piping hot and free. Every classroom is equipped with comfortable chairs, an oversized whiteboard, and a cassette and CD player.

Maximum Level's Native Spanish Program appeals to adventure seekers, working professionals, and entire families because it offers intensive and professional Spanish programs. Whether students want to boost their standing at university, add to their career skills, or put their world travels on the fast track, Maximum Level has a Spanish course and a certified, native, Spanish teacher for them. It also has a free Tandem Exchange Program offering free conversation practice to supplement regular classes.  University credit is available for Máximum Level's Spanish language programs.

Maximum Level offers all levels of Spanish instruction (from Basic to Advanced), as well as special Medical Spanish classes. Courses are organized in small groups or private lessons. Via the optional Tandem Exchange Program, Spanish clients can join free conversation practice when the school teams them up with local residents who arre studying in Maximum Level's intensive English programs.  This "tandem" conversation practice is an excellent addition to regular Spanish classes. On first day, students will participate in a brief orientation, take a language placement test, and then be placed at an appropriate level. Throughout their language training, the teacher will continuously assess their ability in the 4 language skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing; and the 4 language systems: Grammar, Vocabulary, Phonology, and Function.

To complement its international study and volunteer programs, Máximum Level offers a number of travel and adventure options. The Travel & Study, Mini Adventure, and Full Adventure programs are led by licensed, experienced guides, all of whom speak both Spanish and English. All Adventure & Culture Programs include housing and food in either The Family House or a traditional family-stay.  Other housing options are also available. Travel and adventure programs are also available seperately from the study and volunteer programs.

Housing is offered at The Family House (bed, breakfast & dinner included), with a local family, in a hostel, in a private or shared apartment, or in a hotel.
