French Language School in Provence, France
The mission of the Alliance Française consists in teaching
French to foreigners and the spreading of French culture and its influence. The school is
located in the heart of Marseilles, within walking distance of the historic center. The
classrooms are located on the first floor of a building with a computer lab available for
students use. In addition to that, there are several classes where students can work in
pleasant and good conditions.
Marseille is the largest city in the south of France and the
Capital of Provence. It is the second scientific city in France and the first port of
France of the Mediteranean. It is very animated until late in the evening.
At the Alliance, the pedagogy is organized around the four
basic skills. When enrolling, the student's ability to express him/herself aurally or in
writing will be tested, and his/her level will be assessed. At the end of the
course, the student will be given a certificate showing what level he/she has reached.
French courses offered include Extensive courses (6 to 9 hrs
per week), Intensive courses (12 to 15 hrs per week), Specific courses (such as Tecnnical
French -in journalism, busines, secretarial, tourism and hostel management- or French for
au-pair girls), Sport and Studies in Summer (sailing, diving) and other types of
course. The Alliance is a examination center for DAEFLE, TEF and TCF.
Regarding accommodation, the Alliance proposes addresses of a
variety of accommodation to its students: A host family, Studio apartments, Hotel
accommodation, or an "au pair".
