French Language School in Provence, France

Formally recognized by the French national Ministry of Education, the American University Center of Provence provides a high quality academic and cultural experience for American college and university students. Two full-immersion French programs (in Aix-en-Provence and in Marseille) combine an all French-speaking environment, individual homestay, language partner, personal interest activity, and community service with rigorous course work taught by French university faculty.

AUCP students speak French in all curricular and extra-curricular circumstances: in their classes, with their French host families, with their French friends, as well as within the AUCP student group.

The AUCP accepts    Students must have at minimum an advanced level in the French language.   This is generally understood as the equivalent of two years college French, or the ability to take a literature or other "subject matter" class in the language.   Graduate students and adult learners are welcome.  Like others, these students should make academic credit arrangements before coming.

At semester’s end, the home universities receive the AUCP Permanent Academic Record, or transcript, recommending academic credit transfer (normal load: 15 semester hours).
