The Department for the Study of French as a Foreign Language (DEFLE - Département d'Etudes de Français Langue Etrangère) at the Université Michel de Montaigne - Bordeaux 3, offers French language students the possibility of learning French at university standard in a region steeped in culture.

At the DEFLE, teaching is carried out in groups of limited numbers. Classes are led by specialized teachers with the assistance of up-to-date equipment. On the successful completion of a course, students are awarded internationally recognized university certificates.

DEFLE offers the international student:
