Founded in 1992 by former lecturers of Düsseldorf's Heinrich Heine University, Sprachforum Heinrich Heine is an international language institute. Since then, it has received more than 6000 students from 128 countries. The school is a member of the professional association German as a foreign language FaDaF and is recognised pursuant to the German Federal Law concerning the promotion of Education and Training ("Bundesausbildungsförderungsgesetz"). Sprachforum Heinrich Heine Düsseldorf has been licenced for TestDaF examination since 2002. It is situated in close proximity to Heinrich Heine Düsseldorf University, which can be reached very easily by foot; a streetcar takes the student directly from the Sprachforum to the city centre and to the central station.

Sprachforum Heinrich Heine offers 9- and 3-weeks German as a foreign Language courses of   throughout the year. The German Courses are splitted into five different levels. In July and August, it offers Summer Courses in 3 different periods. These courses are 3 weeks long. Besides, applicants who want to begin their studies at a Gerrman University can take the TestDaF-Examination. Furthermore the school offers a TestDaF-Preparation-Courses prior to each TestDaF-examination.
