Saena Iulia was founded in 1992 by a group of teachers, a small school with a pleasant atmosphere, which is both professional and friendly at the same time.  The school is located in a central and quiet part of the historic centre close to the cathedral and the Piazza del Campo, in Siena. Its building is the 16th century Palazzo del Magnifico, once the residence of the governor of the city.   There, the school offers different services to its students: telephone calls, fax, Internet, advice and assistance, etc.

Saena Iulia offers Italian language courses all year round, in small groups (max. 6 people), organized in five levels.  There are also tutorial sessions and cultural seminars (art, music, cinema, literature, etc.). Students may choose to study in groups, individual lessons or in combined courses of both, for as long as they wish.  There are also specific options, such as Italian for Lyrical Opera, CILS exam preparation, Italian for Business, Italian for Tourism, etc.

The school offers a wide range of accommodation options, including: apartments with other students, homestay, mini-apartments, hotels and hostels.

Saena Iulia also organizes excursions to locations of artistic, historical and natural interest, off the usual tourist itinerary  (taste wine in a vineyard, see how cheese and olive oil are made, visit Etruscan or Roman archaeological sites, cooking evenigns, or just talk with the local people).
