Nausicaa
offers Italian language courses in the historic centre of Pizzo in close proximity to a
sea promenade and several fine beaches. Just a few metres away from the
accommodations, there are trattorias, ice-cream parlours, cafés and shops where students
can test out and improve their language skills in an authentic language environment. The
school is well equipped with modern facilities and excellent teaching material.
There are six
different levels in which classes are organized, from Elementary 1 to Advanced 2. The number of participants is restricted to a maximum of 6 people per course, in
group sessions. Individual lessons are also available. In order to be placed at the
appropriate level, all students, except absolute beginners, sit a written and oral test at
the beginning of the language course. All participants receive a language diploma at the
end of the course and if desired, additional certification of their participation.
Other special courses are also provided, such as Italian cooking and Italian art.
Nausicaa will be happy to
arrange accommodation in holiday apartment, B&B or in an Italian family. All the
accommodation options are in the historic centre within close walking distance of the
beach.
Right nearby, there are wonderful beaches and coves with white sand and
beautifully clear sea: Capo Vaticano, Tropea, Zambrone, Punta Safň. The region
offers many opportunities for cultural leisure activities and sport. Besides,
students can also choose from a wide range of excursions organised by Nausicaa.
Destinations include museums and monuments over the whole of Calabria and Sicilly, as well
as to the Aeolean Islands, Taormina with its Greek theatre, to the famous trading town of
Messina, or to the archeological excavations in Tindari. The range of sports activities on
offer is virtually limitless, from diving courses and paragliding to "nature
trips" by trekking or mountain bike.
