Scuola di lingua e cultura italiana Federico II is inspired by the Court of Federico II as it will bring its students a perfect mix of language and culture in the most lively city of the island. Teaching methods integrate outside the classroom learning with morning lesson plans. The school offers a whole range of free activities offered for students to gain insight into the Italian culture, all levels of Italian offered the whole year around, small study groups and a friendly and helpful staff that give personal attention to each student. Located in Catania, the school is in an enjoiable place for its students' holiday, a region full of history, culture and traditions, where visitors can find fluffy beachs, lava rocks, transparent sea and sparkling nightlife, delicious food and excellent wine.  Federico II is located in the heart of the city centre, via Garibaldi n.9 just in front the Cathedral. It is hosted in an ancient baroque building.

The students are the true protagonists of teaching. The method of teaching school is based on the communication and cultural confrontation.  There are two main Italian programs offered:  the Italian Experience and the Summer School.  Italian Experience (20 hrs/week plus cultural activities) is for those who want a full immersion language course and a cultural italian life experience. In the morning students will study in class. In the afternoon, through an interesting and various social program they will appreciate the culture produced in the country. Italian Experience courses are suitable from absolute beginners to advanced throughout all the year. The minimum age is 18. The maximum number of students per class is 12.  New courses start every 2 weeks throughout the year. Minimum attendance is 2 weeks.

The program Summer School combines italian language lessons with beach activities. Young people will enjoy the sparkling atmosphere full of joy, sport on the beach and very cool night life. Italian classes are held every morning from and last 20 hours a week. After the morning lessons everybody spends the whole afternoon to the wonderful Playa (beach) of Catania. The school offers its students some sportive activities so they can enjoy while learning Italian and making new friends. The age admitted for the summer school is from 18 to 29. These courses are run from 1^st May till 30^th September. Each course lasts 4 weeks, following the level scheme.

On arrival, non-beginner students are tested and placed in classes according to their level and their particular needs. All the courses are linked with cultural or leisure free activities.  This activites are also thought to support students' italian language learning. Some activities are: guided Catania tours, Italian cooking, Literature Seminars, Wine and Cheese Tasting, beach games (Summer), dance & aerobic (Summer), etc.

Federico II School offers its students various accomodation opportunities: in apartments, with a host family or in a bed & breakfast.
