Founded in 2003, Italian Language School ILS is located in Otranto, in a nice residential district, very close to the sea and just 5 minutes away from the city centre.  It is open all year round for students of every age, level and nationality and offers Italian language lessons in a warm and friendly environment. Classes are organized in small groups (no more than 8 students per class) and teachers use teaching methods that focus on developing conversational skills, while grammar is applied on practice.  Students can also use a library, a videoteca and a multimedia linguistic laboratory. At the end of the course, they all receive a certificate which states the attained knowledge of Italian language they aquired.

Italian language instruction can be taken in different types of courses: Low (10 lessons per week), Normal (15 lessons), Intensive (20), and Full Immersion (25). Three levels are taken in consideration: beginner, intermediate and advanced.  Lessons last 50 minutes and are held from Monday to Friday.  In addition to language instruction, ILS also offers special courses such as CILS and CELI preparation courses, Commercial Italian, Grammatical Objective (for beginners and intermediate students), Italian Literature, Typical Salentina cuisine, Summer courses for kids and more.

Accommodation is provided on campus: the schools has its own apartments, which students share with other participants.  Other lodging options include homestay with Italian families, selected by the school, or in hotels nearby.
