Scuola Lorenzo de' Medici offers Italian Language and
Culture courses in Florence, Rome and Tuscania (Latium).
Language instruction is focused on developing all four linguistic skills (listening,
speaking, reading and writing) thorugh a wide range of classroom activities, within a
cultural context which helps students become familiar with the Italian way of life.
Courses are organized in group or private lessons (one-to-one). Absolute beginners start
on the first Monday or the academic month, while the rest of the students will take a
placement test upon arrival to be placed in the appropiate group. Some of the group
courses offered are: Espresso 4 (4 hourse a day), Espresso 2 (2 hours a day, only in
Summer), and the Combination Course (regular group lessons plus one individual lesson per
day). There are also supplementary courses available, like Italian Cuisine and
Wines.
Lorenzo de' Medici issues an attendance certificate and, on request, a certificate
attesting the successful completion of courses. In addition, students who has successfully
completed the final level of the Espresso course receive the Magister Linguae Certificate.
Twice a year, the school also prepares students to attain the CILS and the CELI
certifications and offers a Training Course for Teachers of Italian as a Second Language.
Lorenzo de' Medici suggests possibilities relative to housing requests through
independent real estate Agencies. The most common options available are homestay and
apartment lodging. Besides, it offers a wide range of different services, facilities and
activities to its students, such as Wi-Fi Internet access throughout the school, loan
service for the school's Italian language library with over 550 books, DVDs and VHS,
recreational activities and events, conversation exchange with Italians, etc.
