NECA (New Etruria College Association) was founded to offer university students a quality study abroad program in Italy that meets U.S. university academic standards. It offers directed studies and individualized programs to its international students. The NECA language courses allow students to develop their basic language skills in a fun and motivating experiential learning environment. Some lessons may be held outside the classroom. Language courses offered are Elementary Italian (levels 1 and 2), Intermediate Italian (1 and 2) and Conversation & Composition in Italian (1 and 2). Non-beginners should complete the placement test before they start their courses, in order to be placed in the appropriate level.

NECA also offers, during its programs, excursions in the Florence area and in other cities. Students find accommodation usually in an apartment or student residence. Optional accommodation is board with a family, including a meal plan.

NECA also offers Alumni Programs and Educational Guided Tours for curious travelers.
