Since 1987, Centro Lingua Italiana Calvino (CLIC) has been offering Italian courses for international students in Florence, throughout the year. The school is centrally located, in the heart of the Santa Maria Novella quarter, next to the main railway station. The school has a comfortable and bright lounge area for the students, offering music, newspapers, a piano and so on. Each classroom features a small terrace; in addition there are two wide panoramic terraces from which they can enjoy a magnificent view of the city and the surrounding hills.

CLIC also offers residential Summer courses in Calabria, in the south of Italy.  It is situated in Capo Vaticano, a steep foothill, a few kilometres south of the medieval town of Tropea with its picturesque 12th century cathedral.  The school is located in an orange grove in the little village of Santa Domenica di Ricadi, just 700 meters from the beach. The homes where the students stay are also surrounded by orange trees.

Students may choose to attend Italian lessons 2, 4 or 6 hours per day, from Monday to Friday.   Courses are organized in small groups (no more than 10 students per class, in Florence) at eight different language levels. Teachers are university graduates and have completed special training for teaching Italian as a foreign language.  Texts are combined with other materials and activities during the sessions.  In addition to regular instruction, there are also special courses designed to reinforce some specific apects of the student's learning process, such as the Grammar & Conversation course, COMBI course (group lessons with additional private tuition) and the part-time course (for working students and au-pair).  Other specialized programs are Language & Internship, Language & Cooking and Language & Painting.

CLIC also organizes parties, dinners, games, lectures, concerts and evenings at the cinema, which encourage the students to meet new friends, experience cultural activities and practice ther language skills.

Acommodation in Florence is offered by the school in homestay with Italian families, shared lodging with Italian or foreign students and in apartments.
