Italian Language School in Rome, Italy
www.ciao-italia.it
Founded in 1996 by
graduate teachers specialized in teaching Italian, Ciao Italia is a small-sized school
which offers Italian language courses to foreigners all year round in a friendly and
welcoming atmosphere. The centre is located in downtown Rome, in a fine building just restored facing the Bank of Italy. It has
a modern cafeteria and pizzeria in the first floor, as well as a small library, a
videoteca and access to Internet. Ciao Italia is member of ASILS, ELITE and
EDUITALIA, and it is included in the list of schools of Italian of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs.
Ciao Italia offers different types of Italian
language courses. They are conducted by experienced Italian speaking teachers, at
all levels (from beginners to advanced), in small groups (from 2 to 12
participants, avg. 4 to 8) or in private instruction. Teachers apply a communicative,
dynamic teaching method in all their lessons. Italian group courses include Standard
Italian (4 hours per day, 5 days a week), Intensive (Standard program plus extra
individual lessons), Extensive programs (long-term programs, from 3 months), Conversation
courses, Business Italian and test preparation courses (CILS and IT exams).
Individual courses are always available, they are flexible and tailor-made. The
student can also receive a test preparation course or a Business Italian focus in his/her
private lessons. The centre also provides special courses for companies or
embassies. Other special courses offered by Ciao Italia include Italian Art History,
Opera singing, Amateur cooking courses, and many others.
Upon request, Ciao Italia can book different kinds of accommodation
-family or apartment shared with other students- while the students study at the school in
Standard or Intensive programs. Accommodation is booked in the city, in central
areas with convenient amenities well-connected to the school by means of public
transport. There are also other options in town, such as hotels or residences, that
can be booked by the students on their own.
Ciao Italia organizes, assists and encourages its students
to do many socio-cultural activities in their spare time, including tours guided by an Art
Historian, discounted prices for theatre, Opera, ballets and concerts, cooking courses for
amateurs at a private house, visits to the neighborhood, parties at the school, etc.
