 The
school is situated in the heart of Nice on the French Riviera in a beautiful building from
the 19th century
Nice is a city in Southern
France located on the Mediterranean coast, between Cannes and Monaco. It is the
préfecture (administrative capital) of the Alpes-Maritimes département. The city is a
major tourist centre and a leading resort on the French Riviera - Côte d'Azur.
Nice
is famous for its beaches, for its beautiful city, its luxury hotels and culinary
specialties. Apart from this you will be fascinated by the variety of museums and cultural
and sportive events that take place all year round.
 The school has a large
terrace, furnished classrooms and a library with a lot of French Literature, and a reading
room where the students can read or make their homework.

Nice, 15 minutes to the old town and 20 minutes to the beach.

AND METHODOLOGY
 Idiom
offers all levels French language courses, one-to-one or in groups with either 3 or 8
students. The shortest course lasts one week with classes from Monday to Friday. The
courses begin with a written test and an interview so that the French level of the student
can be determined.
The daily classes are generally
divided into 3 units of 90 minutes each concentrating on one special topic: vocabulary,
grammar and conversation. The grammar is concentrated in improving the understanding of
the French structures, whereas the vocabulary and the oral classes take in consideration
the interests from each individual student to improve their written and spoken
performance.

If you would like to attend a course that is completely
adapted to your needs, you may choose a PRIVATE
PROGRAM with a minimum of 4 lessons per day/20 lessons per week to a maximum
of 10 lessons per day/ 50 lessons per week.
Each lesson lasts 45 minutes.
If you prefer to study in a group,
you may choose to study in a MINI GROUP
(3 students maximum) or 8 in a STANDARD
GROUP (8 students maximum). Both with an identical number of
daily lessons (6 lessons per day). Each lesson lasts 45 minutes.
IDIOM also offers the possibility of
combining courses:
- French group course in the morning, and BUSINESS
FRENCH in the afternoon
- French group course in the morning,
and individual lessons in the afternoon
Student over 55 who wish to acquire basic knowledge in French or to
brush up already existing knowledge with a multitude of interesting topics and emphasis on
spoken French, may choose the SENIOR PROGRAM
. This is a special program combining French language tuition in the morning and a lively
social activity program in the afternoon (stroll through the old town of Nice, cooking
lessons, commented guided museum visits, excursions, etc.) This course takes place during
the most agreeable months in the south of France: in spring (March, April, May and June)
and in autumn (September and October).
French teachers wishing to brush up their knowledge of the French language, its culture
and civilization and the latest language developments, teaching methods and materials may
book the TEACHER
REFRESHER COURSE This course takes place during the summer holidays.
The DELF EXAM
PREPARATION COURSES prepares students for the Delf exams that take place in
Cannes (but can also be presented in the student's home country).
And last but not least, the HIGH SCHOOL EXAM PREPARATION COURSES are suited for students
wishing to improve their school grades in French in order to pass high school exams. The
courses concentrate on French civilization and literature and are held during the Easter
and summer holidays.

ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
For you accommodation, there are different choices:
French Host Family:
 IDIOM offers you
the opportunity to stay with French host family in single or double room with
half-board (breakfast and dinner).
IDIOM host families are carefully selected. You can reach the school on foot or by bus
(not more than 30 minutes by foot or by bus). Some families live on the outskirts of Nice
and are convenient for students who come by car.
Families offer continental breakfast and dinner in the evening. This
offers a good opportunity to take part in the family’s private life and to join
conversations. In this way you can practice your command of French that you have acquired
at school.
Students with family accommodation are met by their host family upon arrival at the
airport or the railway station
Price 2006 per person per day in a single room is 30
€. In a double room: 28 €
(Double room only for 2 students who enroll together and want to share the same room)
A hotel with breakfast
There are several hotels in Nice which are situated near the school, 2, 3, 4 or 5 star
categories. These hotels grant special prices for IDIOM students.

A holiday flat
IDIOM students can also stay at fully equipped apartments with cooking facilities,
for 1 to 6 people. All residences are within a walking distance to IDIOM and grant special
prices for IDIOM students.

A student residence
Another option for your accommodation is to stay at a small student residence, which
grants special prices for IDIOM students. On foot it is only 15 minutes from the school.
The residence is situated near the train station and other amenities. The
residence offers single rooms, double rooms and a few studios, all with private toilet and
shower. Cooking facilities in the studios and shared kitchen for single and double rooms.
