Scuola Verde L'Olmo was founded in 1989 in cooperation with the community of Portico di Romagna as the "Centro Culturale di Lingua Italiana". Under new management it has become a certified Language School for Foreigners recognized by the state in the year 2000. The school works with professional teachers, all trained in humanistic disciplines with many years experience teaching the Italian language to foreign students. Their methods, addressed to small groups, are particularly effective especially because the possibility exists one on one work with the students. Scuola Verde L'Olmo has developed a special character being that the nature of the village fosters contact between students and the local people. This familiar atmosphere helps students get more involved with the language and encourages spontaneous practice.
