Pimsleur Portuguese
 Pimsleur Portuguese Language program is an efficient audio
training system designed to teach spoken Portuguese language to English speakers.
The Pimsleur Portuguese audio program uses a natural mode of interactive
communication -- questions and answers; statements and rejoinder; give and take --
beginning with the most-frequently-utilized vocabulary native speakers use in everyday
conversations.
Pimsleur Portuguese has three different levels:
Pimsleur Portuguese Level 1
(30 lessons)
The thirty half hour lessons of the level 1 can take you from
zero to an intermediate-low level of communication, which is characterized by the ability
to participate in simple and direct conversations on everyday topics, in everyday
situations; by being able to satisfy immediate needs, such as ordering food and making
simple purchases; and by being able to establish rapport with strangers in a foreign
country.
Pimsleur Portuguese
Level 2 (30 lessons)
The thirty half hour lessons of the level 2 can take you from
a intermediate-low to an intermediate-mid level of communication, which is characterized
by creative ability in the target language and by being able to communicate personal
meaning to native speakers by combining and recombining known elements and conversational
input to correctly form sentences of increasing length.
Pimsleur Portuguese Level 3
(30 lessons)
The thirty half hour lessons of the level 3 can take you
from the intermediate-mid to the intermediate-high level of communication, which is
characterized by the ability to converse with growing ease and confidence, narrate and
describe in terms of past, present and future using connected discourse of considerable
conversational length.
Where to buy Pimsleur?
Pimsleur Portuguese is available from different
retailers. Some of them sell Pimsleur on CDs or Cassettes. Other companies offer
the possibility to download it. The quality of the dowloaded version is as good as the one
on CDs and it's cheaper. You can listen
Pimsleur directly for your computer or you can copy the files you download to your digital
music player.
Level 1 can be bought in parts or the whole package with the 30 lessons. Level 2 is sold
as a whole package (30 lessons) and level 3 too.
