English Language and Culture Program (ELC) participants can improve their understanding of both formal and informal English because the program focuses on the skills needed to understand meaning.

While you are studying the English language, you will also practise the analytical skills needed for academic success. You will improve the communication skills you require for business success. You will develop an understanding of Canadian and North American culture that will enable you to take an active role while you are in Canada.

Studying English at ELC is to participate in experiential, intensely interactive learning. At the same time, it is an opportunity to study English in a university setting, to learn about the education system in Canada, and to gain first-hand exposure to Canadian culture.
