The Bristol Language Centre (BLC) is a British Council
accredited school which offers a wide range of high quality English language courses. It
is based in the centre of Bristol in a thriving area near the quay, only a short walk from
the city’s main shopping centre, best cinemas and theatres and wide choice of
restaurants, cafes and clubs. The Bristol Language Centre is a friendly and professional
organisation which offers a dedicated service to all our partners.
Why study at the BLC (The Bristol Language Centre)? It offers great facilities and
resources, including online learning platform access with individual student learner
profiles, guided online learning programme, computer based lessons, interactive
whiteboards, study room with multi-media centre, 13 modern and light classrooms and free
Wi-Fi access. The BLC also provides variety of quality courses, conducted by excellent
teachers, fast language development, a year round social programme and other professional
services.
The General and Intensive English courses at BLC are designed to improve your English
language proficiency for use in everyday situations. Students may want to improve their
English language for further studies, business or leisure. The course uses a course book
and supplementary materials and will provide you with essential structures and vocabulary.
Courses are made up of 20, 24 or 30 lessons per week, -General 15 hours and Intensive 22.5
hours English language programmes-. Other courses offered include Cambridge examination
preparation (FCE, CAE, BEC), TOEFL and TOEIC preparation, Univeristy preparation courses,
Business English and group programmes for juniors and adults.
Regarding homestay and residential accommodation, at The Bristol Language Centre you can
choose to stay in one of the carefully selected host families (half board or self
catering), university residences, hostel, serviced apartments or hotel options.
